We’ve all done it; seen a celebrity sporting the latest “must have” hairstyle and wondered whether we could carry it off. And whilst for most of us a high-maintenance, red carpet style is incompatible with everyday life the majority of celebrities don’t actually wander around coiffed to within an inch of their lives on a permanent basis.
Like us they want something on trend, easy to manage that suits the shape of their face and ultimately looks great. So if you have seen a celebrity hairstyle that you are keen to replicate then don’t dismiss it. Have a chat with your hairdresser and see whether they think it could work for you too. In fact we’ve been doing a spot of celebrity hairstyle spotting ourselves and here are some of our current favourites:
With her signature platinum blond short crop, Scottish recording artist and songwriter Emeli Sandé has a very distinctive style. She tends to leave the top longer so she can experiment with different looks but with the shaved sides and back the overall effect is very much short and sassy. Though the style may not suit everyone it does work with hair of any type, texture or condition.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (aka Cheryl Cole)
Though she may change her hairstyle as frequently as the rest of us change our clothes we love Cheryl’s latest look. This mid-length, gently wavy style is contemporary and flattering and we think it will prove a popular look with our clients. Only weeks earlier she had been seen sporting bright red locks but we are loving this more natural colouring and think she’s got it spot on.
David Beckham looked as dapper as ever when he took his place in the Royal Box at this year’s Wimbledon. Having experimented with many different hairstyles down the years we think this is one of his best yet. With its distinctive parting and very short sides he has deliberately kept the top long. For Wimbledon it was neatly gelled back but the extra length on top means that he can still achieve the casual quiff which he first modelled in his H&M campaign earlier this year.
Rarely seen with her hair up we loved this sophisticated up do which Kate sported at daughter Charlotte’s christening. It’s the perfect glamorous, yet understated, style for a formal occasion and works particularly well with her striking cream fascinator.
Brit pop star Sam Smith sports a simple, yet stylish hairstyle. Clipped at the sides the hair is cut with scissors on top and left longer so that he can fashion it into his trademark quiff. We love his look and think it’s the perfect style for the younger man.
